Our Sensory Room uses exciting technology to provide a relaxing and/or stimulating environment for people of all ages and abilities. The space is situated within a private room adjoining the Children’s Library and is equipped with digital sensory technology. Ideal for families with small children or people experiencing sensory impairment conditions, the room offers a relaxed play environment where people can freely explore our state-of-the-art range of sensory equipment. The space accommodates up to 6 attendees of any age. The Sensory Room’s facilities and programmed activities support the needs of children and adults with autism, dementia, and other sensory impairment conditions, as well as offering a calming environment for those who suffer from stress and anxiety or just need a place to relax. A member of the library staff will be available to show you how to use the equipment.
